The Coalition's 2009 ‘Partner of the Year’: Taylor Swift

There are thousands of coalition partners situate everywhere in the world. Many visibly contribute and some so extraordinarily. And given that remarkable commitment to coalition interests and objectives there is now a special honor for that. Just like ‘Time’ and its ‘Person of the Year’, the coalition’s inaugural award of ‘Partner of the Year’ goes to Taylor Swift.
There are several criteria for ‘Partner of the Year’. One of the most relied upon is the number of Geo Award nominations in the year the honor is bestowed. In 2009, that is – without equal – Taylor, with eleven. Her contributions, which began in March 2008*, are extraordinary as much in the amount as in their breadth and scope. Virtually everything she’s done in the public eye since joining the coalition has been geo-politicized: lyrics, music videos, interviews, the design, launch and execution of her concert tour, award show appearances, performances and acceptance speeches, hosting and performing on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and photography. She’s so totally, completely and absolutely dedicated, she even risked irreversibly tarnishing her pristine reputation.

It’s just a sad picture,
The final blow hits you
Somebody else gets what you wanted again
You know it’s all the same
Another time and place
Repeating history, and your getting sick of it
But I believe in whatever you do
And I’ll do anything to see it through
Because these things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
It’s a revolution, the time will come for us to finally win
We’ll sing hallelujah…
We’ll sing hallelujah…
Oh… Oh, oh..
So you’ve been outnumbered
Raided and now cornered
It’s hard to fight when the fight ain’t fair
We’re getting stronger now
From things they never found
They might be bigger, but we’re faster and never scared
You can walk away and say we don’t need this
But there’s something in your eyes, says we can beat this
These things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
It’s a revolution, the time will come for us to finally win
We’ll sing hallelujah…
We’ll sing hallelujah…
Oh… Oh,oh..
Tonight we’re standing on our knees
To fight for what we worked for all these years
The battle was long, it’s the fight of our lives
Will we stand up champions tonight?
It was the night things changed
Can you see it now?
When the walls that they put up to hold us back fell down
It’s a revolution, throw your hands up, cause we never gave in
We’ll sing halleluiah…
We’ll sing halleluiah…
Hallelujah
